One of the greatest things about being in the Charlotte community is meeting people behind other local businesses. Carlos Ortiz, Land of A Thousand Hills’ Coffee & Social General Manager, moved to Charlotte from Atlanta, GA to open a new location. Learning about SPENGA through our instructor Lorrie, he joined our crew within his first few months in NC. Lorrie was able to sit with Carlos and learn more about the up and coming coffee and social spot.
What is Land of A Thousand Hills’ mission and vision?
The mission and vision for LTH is to craft beautiful coffee, create purposeful work, and cultivate flourishing communities
With LTH originating from Atlanta, what sparked the interest to move into Charlotte?
We wanted to continue our collaboration with our partners at Crescent Community and spread our story while growing our communities
What is your favorite thing about being the manager at the Lower South End (LoSo) location?
What I have enjoyed about being at the LoSo location is the people. They have welcomed us with open arms, and embraced our coffee and our mission to “Do Good”
How do you see LTH fitting into the South End community?
We see ourselves continuing to do good and bring communities together over craft coffee and beer from all the local favorites
What is your favorite part about the SPENGA crew?
I have enjoyed the amazing WERKout and energy each instructor and member brings!
